UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 28, 2018. SIM cards will now be contributing to traffic safety: the Ural division of Russia’s Transport Ministry’s Security Service Administration and the telecommunications provider MegaFon announced they were going to work together, MegaFon’s press service reports.

‘The Russian Transport Ministry’s Security Service Administration officers work to ensure safety at all the key transport facilities throughout the country, including subway stations, airports, bridges, railway stations, and hydraulic developments. The Administration’s Ural division controls 70+ very important facilities, Sabetta, Koltsovo, Roschino, and Chelyabinsk International Airports as well as all of the non-international airports in the area among these. The division also also keeps an eye on aircraft navigation fixtures such as air traffic control towers and locator appliances that no airport can operate without,’ the press service says.

Under the terms of their contract, MegaFon will provide the Ural division of Russia’s Transport Ministry’s Security Service Administration with 24/7 Internet connection to ensure 3G and 4G data transfer to and from 120 different mobile devices.
