UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 12, 2017. The 11th International Rolled Goods Manufacturers’ Congress closes in Magnitogorsk today, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
The event was coordinated by Rolled Goods Manufacturers’ Union, a public organization, and MMK.
The Union’s President Nikolay Gugis said at the opening plenary session that this year’s congress gathered together quite a few participants.
‘We see people getting attracted to Magnitogorsk’s metallurgical facilities; this is a cult location, the metallurgical industry’s true stronghold. MMK managed an outstanding breakthrough in the 21st century; now this is an advanced, hi tech enterprise with admirable job culture. We are proud to have a company like this operate in Russia,’ Gugis said.
MMK DG Pavel Shilyayev addressed the forum participants as well; he said MMK underwent considerable changes in the last fifteen to twenty years. The plant implemented a large-scale investment program to ensure retooling and production upgrades; in fact, the lion’s share of these investments got directed to the rolled goods production facilities.
‘We have a lot to show and to talk over, and we are always happy to meet our colleagues and partners in this format,’ Shilyayev said.
