UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 26, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) won in the 14th Corporate Social Responsibility in Mining & Metallurgical Industry Contest as the best Personnel Investor, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s press office reports.

The company proved to invest in its talent pool, develop its employee training centers, and enhance the prestige of blue-collar jobs through WorldSkills championships.

‘The key to the plant’s personnel policy is to start training from as early as school. We coordinate job counseling sessions and design projects that are age-relevant for students in elementary and secondary schools. We also work closely with schools and colleges. Our plant offers multi-faceted training and induction programs for the young newcomers, as well as professional development training and re-training for new qualifications. There are special programs to support our talent pool and the most promising employees, which means we can fill all the job openings with our own staff. The judges on the contest panel were particularly impressed with our large-scale investment of time and effort in WorldSkills corporate championships. EVRAZ is one of the first Russian companies to introduce WorldSkills in the area,’ the press office says.
