EVRAZ ZSMK Wins in WorldSkills

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 31, 2017. The team of EVRAZ Holding’s West-Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) won in the 2nd corporate WorldSkills championship, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
The company coordinated its second blue-collar job skills contest at EVRAZ ZSMK training site. This year, there were more categories than before; also, the number of both the championship participants and eligible age groups went up. Sixty-eight workers from the holding’s various member enterprises competed in WorldSkills all in all, and over a thousand locals, schoolchildren, and students came on the site during the company’s Doors Open Day.
‘ZSMK team won gold in all the six categories. Rail/Beam Department’s electricians Alexander Nenashev and Yakov Ischuk won the first prize in Mechatronics, while electricians Pavel Tereschenko and Sergey Cherepanov came first in Wiring and Production Process Management, respectively. Electrical and gas welder Kirill Gladyshev from the plant’s Metallurgical Equipment Repairs Department proved the best in Welding Technologies. Maria Tsaregorodtseva from the central lab and repairman Sergey Zaitsev from the Metallurgical Equipment Repairs Department won the first prizes in Lab Chemical Test and Metal Sheet Treatment, respectively,’ the Center says.
