5 June 2017 (13:31)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 5, 2017. Gazprom’s top executives held an off-site meeting with representatives of Russia’s metallurgical and machine-building enterprises during a recent forum in Saint Petersburg.
According to Sinara Group’s press service, Gazprom’s Chair of the Board Alexei Miller also paid a visit to their exhibition stand to look at Sinara Transport Machines’ promising developments in the field of energy-efficient locos and engines that run on natural gas.
The agreement to use natural gas as fuel for their rolling stock and locos was signed by Gazprom, Russian Railways, Sinara Group, and Transmashholding at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum last year.
In December 2016, Sinara Group’s Lyudinovsky Locomotive Plant got its gas turbine loco GT1h-002 certified, so the machine is currently in use at Sverdlovsk Railways. The new loco is a wholly Russian development (production 98% local). The plant has by now worked out the technology needed to produce the locos on a serial scale and is ready to take on orders for their new GT1h.
