The visit to the plant took place on April 11 as part of the inspector’s business trip to Polevskoy. Uralgidromed’s Director-General Nikolai Azarov told the visitor about the know-hows of hydro-metallurgical production process that the company relies on. A special discussion was held on environmental protection solutions the plant has been implementing.

‘Uralgidromed has been developing Gumeshevskoye copper deposit that is over three hundred years old. The important thing is that the plant works both on copper production and on making up for the environmental damage caused in the last three centuries. The production process looks complicated to a layman, but one can still appreciate the level of technologies applied. It’s certainly crucial to comply with all the existing norms and regulations in the course of production,’ Berezovsky said.
