Russian Copper Company’s Copper Cathode Output Up 28%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 26, 2016. Russian Copper Company’s member enterprises made 132,694,000 kg of copper cathodes in the nine months of 2016 (compared with 103,726,000 kg one year earlier), the company press service reports.

‘This noticeable output increase may prove this year’s primary production achievement. Copper cathodes are among the company’s best-selling products alongside copper concentrate, copper wire rods, zinc concentrate, and high karat gold and silver; they are made at Kyshtym Copper Electrolysis Plant, Novgorod Metallurgical Plant, and Uralgidromed,’ the press service says.

Kyshtym Copper Electrolysis Plant set a production record in August when 7,504,000 kg of copper cathodes were made at Electrolysis Department 1 and 3,496,000 kg were also made at Electrolysis Department 2. The plant produced over 11,000,000 kg of cathodes altogether.

Russian Copper Company also produced 113,160,000 kg of copper concentrate in January-September 2016 (compared with 110,974,000 kg in the three quarters of 2015), 2,208 kg of gold bullion (compared with 2,049 kg a year earlier), and 53,185 kg of silver bullion (compared with 46,607 kg a year earlier).
