MegaFon Ural: 40% More Access Points Support 4G

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 13, 2017. The number of MegaFon Ural’s 4G-supporting access points rose by 40% in the last twelve months, the company press service reports.
‘Our users are now two times happier with the mobile connection quality than one year ago. They report on improved data transfer speed and quality when using their smartphone Internet connection. The feedback comes from the queries they place with MegaFon contact center and retail outlets,’ the press service says.
‘We keep working on network quality to make sure users can open a webpage/download a video or a music clip instantaneously. The number of 4G-supporting access points rose by 40% in the last year; besides, we launched LTE Advanced options (up to 300 Mb/sec) in Yekaterinburg, which locals quite enjoyed,’ says MegaFon Ural Infrastructure Director Anton Scherbakov.
On average, one LTE A user downloads 40% more data from the Internet than a regular one. The overall traffic of Sverdlovsk Region-based users equals to around 70m MP3 recordings downloaded every month.
’10,000 to 12,000 LTE A supporting smartphones join MegaFon Ural’s network every month. Apple iPhone 6 is on top of the popular Internet surfing-friendly smartphone list, with locals choosing this particular make two times more often than those based in Chelyabinsk Region and three times more often than those based in Perm Territory,’ the company press service says.
