MegaFon Introduces LTE Advanced in Nizhniy Tagil

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 5, 2017. MegaFon Ural introduced the new LTE Advanced telecommunications standard in Nizhniy Tagil, the company press service reports.
The local users’ smartphones and tablets will now have access to the Internet connection that is twice as fast as before. Nizhniy Tagil’s base stations, like those in Yekaterinburg, are now tuned in for higher traffic capacity. With LTE-A, MegaFon’s subscribers will be able to enjoy a better connection quality even at maximum workload.
‘LTE Advanced has meant top data transfer speed now comes to 150 Mb/sec for smartphones, tablets, or routers, which is several times faster than even the 4G network speed. Our telecommunications technicians say that the difference is strikingly obvious: this is exactly like what happens at a supermarket when an extra till opens,’ MegaFon says.
‘Data transfer speed has a direct impact on our lives, which is why we do more than just speed it up: we introduce a new quality of mobile Internet connection. For example, you don’t have to follow hockey or football games by tracking the comment section updates any more: you can simply watch the match online using MegaFon.TV app. Music lovers no longer need to download tracks onto their smartphones, they can just listen to their favorite clips online,’ says MegaFon Sverdlovsk Region Infrastructure Director Lyudmila Pavlova.
