Yekaterinburg Arena Gets Roof Done

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 3, 2017. Sinara Group’s Sinara Development, the general contractor for the reconstruction of Yekaterinburg Stadium in time for the world football championship of 2018, completed the uncentering of the external roof ring.
‘Our builders transferred the external ring weight load from the temporary supporting structures onto eight reinforced concrete pylons. To redistribute the load evenly, every pylon has been fitted with special metal pivot-hinged units,’ the Group’s press service reports.
Given all the preparatory work, it took the workers two days to get the job done. 32 hydraulic units were used in the uncentering process, as the entire roof metal structure (some 5,000,000 kg) had to get lifted first and then placed down again. The stadium roof consists of an external and internal rings that are connected with radial beams and horizontal structures as well as of special projected beams to support the external and internal roof overhangs.
