Yekaterinburg Arena Gets Roof Support Frames

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 21, 2016. Sinara Group’s Sinara Development, the contractor-general in charge of reconstructing Yekaterinburg Arena Stadium in time for the World Cup 2018, is now working on the special support structures for the roof, Sinara Group’s PR Center reports.

The structures are to be mounted onto all the eight pylons holding the roof. For one, the pylon supporting the northern stands is already fitted with Maurer, a rounded metal joint with the diameter of 1.5 meters. The concave part is mounted onto the pylon, while the convex one supports the roof. Such joints will secure the roof against possible damage from rain, snowfalls, and strong wind.

Sinara Development’s Director-General Timur Ufimtsev says the joints are made from wear-resistant materials that can withstand high temperatures and ensure lowered friction. They can deal with both horizontal and vertical load and ensure even load distribution along all the supporting structures.
