UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 22, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s West-Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) embarked on the Year of Environment in Kemerovo Region in the course of a special solemn ceremony, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s press office reports.
The event was attended by representatives of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, Kemerovo Region Administration, Novokuznetsk Council, environmental organizations, and large industrial enterprises based in Kuzbass.
‘To celebrate the occasion, two hose-filter gas and dust removal facilities got launched at ZSMK’s sintering plant. The new units are meant to filter the air from contaminating substances that are released during the sintering process. Under the terms of our current investment project, two more such facilities will get launched before the end of 2018, with the four units’ overall capacity at 900,000 m2 an hour (and 99% purification efficiency). This will reduce the harmful emissions coming from the sintering plant by 22%. EVRAZ allocated over 350m RUR for the purpose,’ the press office says.
