Yekaterinburg Among Top5 Highest Rent Locations

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 30, 2016. Yekaterinburg is currently Russia’s fifth most expensive housing rental market, according to the website Mir Kvartir.
At the moment, renting a studio apartment in Yekaterinburg costs 15,848 RUR a month (down 4.4% on the previous quarter); a one-bedroom home can get rented for 21,130 RUR a month (up 7.6% on the previous quarter), and a two-bedroom one for 34,982 RUR a month (up 3.1%).
The average rental prices rose by 7.8% altogether in the course of the last twelve months.
Moscow is predictably the priciest rental location, where a month’s rent for a studio apartment currently comes to 35,029 RUR on average, that for a one-bedroom home comes to 49,987 RUR, and that for a two-bedroom one comes to 88,649 RUR. Saint Petersburg is next on the list, with rental prices at 21,980 RUR, 32,879 RUR, and 46,098 RUR a month for a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom apartments, respectively. Sochi is No.3 in this rating (20,934 RUR, 31,406 RUR, and 46,747 RUR); next comes Moscow Region, which was, in fact, a less expensive place to live than Yekaterinburg as recently as one year ago (17,522 RUR, 24,270 RUR, and 36,176 RUR).
