UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 13, 2016. Rails made at EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) are now used for putting up subways in Georgia’s capital. More than 350,000 kg of rails have already been delivered to Tbilisi, the company press service says.

The 25-meter-long P50/NT260 rails are meant for the new station University. This is going to be the 23d station on Saburtalinskaya Line.

‘EVRAZ NTMK rails meet all the modern technical standards and got certified for compliance with the Customs Union’s requirements. Every item undergoes automated non-destructive ultrasound testing to make sure all the internal faults get detected and the defective rails gets discarded,’ the company press service says.

Tbilisi Underground was set up in 1966 and now consists of two 22-station lines that are over 26 km long all in all. Five more stations are currently being designed and will be put up in the near future.
