UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 20, 2016. EVRAZ Holding supplied over 1,500,000 kg of fittings for Sakhalinskaya 2, a new power station in the Far East. Another 2,500,000 kg of rolled metal goods will be delivered to the construction site in the future, the company’s PR Department reports.

‘Our AIII fittings made at EVRAZ Holding’s West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works are meant for making ground plates of power-generating facilities and other structures. EVRAZ Holding’s rolled metal products meet all the set requirements in terms of their mechanical and chemical parameters and can ensure the necessary stability and reliability of the reinforced concrete frames,’ the company says.

This national-scale construction project is handled by AO RusGidro; the goal is to replace the worn-out facilities of Sakhalinskaya Power Station. Sakhalinskaya 2 is expected to get commissioned next year and to increase Sakhalin power grid’s overall capacity as well as to boost the island’s industrial growth.

EVRAZ Holding has supplied metal goods to other large-scale power stations before, including Sayano-Shushenskaya, Boguchanskaya, and Ust-Ilimskaya Power Stations, the fast breeder plant BREST 300 in Seversk, and the power facility Dushanbe 2 in Tajikistan.
