UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 8, 2016. Russian Copper Company is acting as one of the general sponsors for Metroshka Children’s Amateur Football Festival this year; the festival is held in sixteen different towns in Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions, the company press service reports.
The competition is coordinated by Chelyabinsk Region-based Metro74 newspaper group, with some support from Governor of Chelyabinsk Region and Chelyabinsk Region PE & Sports Ministry. The festival was first held in the town of Trekhgorny in 2002 and has been organized in late August for fifteen years now, engaging new locations every year.
‘The number of participant towns rose from nine locations in 2013 to sixteen in 2016. This was made possible due to the project’s new sponsor, as Russian Copper Company funded the games in Polevskoy (Sverdlovsk Region) and in Kartaly, Korkino, and Kyshtym (Chelyabinsk Region). Over 2,000 people took part in the competition all in all,’ the press service says.
