EVRAZ NTMK to Double Pipe Shell Output
6 September 2016 (12:51)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 6, 2016. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) is currently getting its pipe shell grinding repair facility retooled and upgraded, the company press service reports.
Once all the renovations and improvements have been completed, the pipe shell output is expected to double, with improved product quality and a wider range of produce as accompanying bonuses, EVRAZ Holding states.
The retooling involves installing a second pipe shell grinding repair line with a wheel-abrator machine to ensure complete removal of surface oxidation, a rough grinding machine to polish possible surface defects, and a conveyor to accumulate and transfer pipe shells from one unit to another. All of this new equipment will get integrated into a single software-controlled chain with optimized logistics.
The project is scheduled to get completed in the first quarter of 2017.
