PNTZ Gets Quality Certificate for Shipbuilding Pipes

22 August 2016 (13:48)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 22, 2016. ChTPZ Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) got audited by Norway’s DNV GL for the first time this year and was issued a quality certificate for its shipbuilding pipes that is valid through 2020, the Group’s press service reports.

The audit procedure consisted in several stages: first, PNTZ had to prove it could make goods that meet DNV GL standards; the produce was then thoroughly tested, and then a report on the pipe-production technology was submitted to the certification body’s head office. DNV GL experts checked whether the plant had all the necessary technological equipment in place, as well as all the control and non-destructive testing appliances, and looked into the staff qualifications and into how the produce got identified and tracked throughout the entire production process.

The quality certificate covers the plant’s hot-rolled and cold-formed pipes made of carbon- and carbon and manganese-bearing steels (diameter up to 219mm, layer thickness up to 40mm). This certificate means ChTPZ Group is now allowed to sell its produce on the shipbuilding markets in the Middle East/North Africa, Turkey, and Europe.
