May 27, 2014. Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a member enterprise of ChTPZ Group) underwent a certification procedure successfully, so its Russian River Register certificate relating to corrosion-resistant pipes that meet GOST 9941-81 requirements now covers a wider range of products. The certificate states that the plant’s produce can be used in the river shipbuilding industry. The enterprise has by now fulfilled the orders for five types of stainless steel pipes varying in sizes that meet the Russian River Register requirements. The first batch was shipped to Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant and will be used in the hydraulic systems of river vessels, the enterprise’s press service reports.

The so-called ‘white metallurgists’ are getting their certificate validity expanded to new types of pipes because of the growing demand for corrosion-resistant pipes in the shipbuilding industry on the whole. For one, the plant’s stainless steel pipe shipments to shipbuilding enterprises increased by several times over the last few years, from 30,000 kg (8,400 meters) in 2011 to 140,000 kg (100,000 meters) in 2013. Sevmash Production Association, Krasnoye Sormovo Plant, and Caspian Energy Group are among the plant’s largest customers.

The great quality of the plant’s produce has been proved by both Russian and international certificates, including the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee, TÜV SÜD (an international certification body), Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, and the American Petroleum Institute.
