Ural Vagon Zavod to Supply Railcars to Federal Freight Company

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 27, 2016. UBT-UralVagonZavod (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) won Russian Railways’ order auction and will now supply 400 freight railcars to Federal Freight Company, the corporation’s press service reports.
Federal Freight Company placed an order for the innovative drop-bottom gondola railcars 12-196-02, whose advantage lies in their increased freight and volume capacity (75,000 kg and 94 m3, respectively).
As it happens, the Federal Tariff Service ruled on January 29, 2015 that the corporation’s innovative gondolas 12-196-01 and 12-196-02 could be used/rented at a discount when run empty.
