Ural Vagon Zavod, Uralchem to Design New Railcars

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 21, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Scientific & Production Corporation and Uralchem’s logistics branch Uralchem Trans signed an agreement to work together on the design of new innovative railcars meant for transportation of chemicals, Ural Vagon Zavod’s press service reports.
The agreement was signed during the annual International Chemistry 2016 Exhibition. The two companies’ joint efforts are expected to result in a new range of railcars with improved performance parameters.
Uralchem Trans’s Director Vsevolod Kovshov pointed out that his company meant to contribute to the development of new rolling stock types in order to increase both the efficiency and safety of their freight forwarding.
‘We believe this could be achieved through cutting the cargo owners’ transportation costs as well as through reducing the rail car maintenance expenses. We think very highly of Ural Vagon Zavod staff’s skills and know-hows in the field of railcar design documentation development,’ Kovshov said.
