UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 12, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation handed over its 10,000th innovative railcar to Russian Railways’ Federal Freight Company (FGK) in the course of a special ceremony in Nizhniy Tagil; the two parties also signed a memorandum of cooperation, with the intention of working together in the design and development of innovative railcars for Russian railways.
According to Ural Vagon Zavod’s press service, the ceremony was attended by Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev, Federal Freight Company Director-General Alexei Taicher, and Ural Vagon Zavod Director-General Oleg Sienko.
‘Federal Freight Company is one of the few freight forwarders on the market investing in their own fleet of vehicles and buying new railcars. We are thus working on an order placed by Russia’s major rail freight forwarder and, given that this customer does business with companies in the coal, metallurgical, chemical, metal treatment, and timber industries, we partially share the social responsibility Federal Freight Company has in terms of the country’s economic performance. It is our duty to ensure good quality rolling stock for this customer’s strategic cargo,’ Sienko was quoted as saying.
Alexei Taicher said, in his turn, that the fierce freight forwarding market competition means railcar owners must keep working on better service and offer their customers appealing deals on their rolling stock options.
