UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 7, 2015. A virtual countdown timer will be activated on Yekaterinburg's official website 1,000 days before the start of the World Football Championship 2018, the city council's press service reports

Deputy head of council Sergey Tushin said at his meeting with the council officials that the timer will start 'ticking' on September 18, 2015.

Tushin says an actual clock will also appear in Yekaterinburg a bit later, 500 days before the championship kicks off. The exact spot for the device is to become a matter of public discussion.
