Yekaterinburg, Sinara agree to relocate city zoo

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 9, 2015. Head of Yekaterinburg Council Alexander Yakob and Director-General of Sinara Development (a member enterprise of Sinara Group) Mikhail Khodorovsky signed an agreement on relocating the city zoo to the new district of Novokoltsovsky.

The city council’s press service explains the relocation will mean the zoo can expand from 2.5 to 37 hectares and get more inhabitants who will have much better living conditions.

According to Khodorovsky, the company will rely on the world’s most advanced zoo development experience. Sinara Development is currently designing a new zoo, with spacious pavilions, a marine life aquarium, and all the necessary infrastructure.

There are currently 1,200 specimens living in the city zoo, pertaining to 400 different species. The place gets 600,000 visitors every year.
