UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 12, 2017. A presentation on the city’s new zoo was made on the first day of Innoprom 2017 International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg; the first section of the zoo is expected to get commissioned in time for the city’s 300th anniversary, Sinara Group’s press service reports.
Deputy Mayor of Yekaterinburg Sergey Tushin and Sinara Development’s Commercial Director Alexei Smirnov spoke about the concept and key features of the prospective Zoo Park. The new zoo will be located in the southwest of Yekaterinburg, in Novokoltsovsky District, and will be nearly 35 hectares large (seventeen times more than the already existing zoo).
The zoo will be special in that the animals’ pavilions will get merged in a single space through a series of roofed galleries, which means visitors to the zoo can look at the animals without leaving the buildings in winter.
