UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 2, 2015. Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s Director-General Oleg Sienko was elected Honorary Citizen of Nizhniy Tagil, the corporation’s press service reports.
‘We considered a number of candidates for the title, and Oleg Sienko proved to have contributed the most to the city’s wellbeing. He coped with the gargantuan task of bringing his company’s production output back to its pre-recession level, when Uralvagonzavod was known as a strong and powerful enterprise. He gave people a chance to regain their trust in the company and let the city feel that the corporation is a reliable partner and a dependable employer. Pay raises and more tax revenues to all types of budgets has meant Nizhniy Tagil was able to go through with quite a few social projects,’ says Nizhniy Tagil Duma Deputy Vyacheslav Goryachkin.
Oleg Sienko came to office in April 2009. Within the following six years, the management team set up a powerful and efficient structure. The corporation currently comprises some forty member enterprises, design offices, and scientific research institutes and employs around 100,000 people, including 30,000 employed at the head plant, Nizhniy Tagil-based Uralvagonzavod.
