UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 11, 2015. An urban development contest was held in Nizhniy Tagil in preparation for the City Day. Uralvagonzavod Corporation and EVRAZ NTMK shared the first prize as the Best Employers, the corporation’s press service reports.

‘These are the two primary job providers who shape the city’s economy, so it would be wrong to single out one enterprise at the expense of the other. We both contribute to Nizhniy Tagil’s social life as well,’ said the corporation’s Director-General Oleg Sienko.

Uralvagonzavod invests in the development of the city’s Dzerzhinsky District and supports schools and kindergartens there; the company also sponsors charity dos and various events for the locals.

The corporation employees organized twenty-three clean-up days and disposed of 1,569 m3 of waste in the six months of the year alone. They did away with three unauthorized landfills in Kruglov St, Kalinin St, and Kievskaya St. The company also helped to make the city greener: over 252,000 flowers, 128 trees, and 195 bushes were planted in the streets. Moreover, 27 children’s playgrounds and 14 sports playgrounds got reconstructed.
