UrBC, Chelyabinsk, June 8, 2015. ‘Active Summer’ officially took off in Chelyabinsk’s Leninsky District on June 4. Groups of high school students came to clean up the local streets, parks, and Lake Smolino. As usual, the largest teams were those of students from Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant’s sponsored schools; these young people could be recognized by their bright red T-shirts and caps with the company logo.
‘For many years, Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) has been supporting local schools and running summer clean-up groups for over a decade now. Just like the plant workers are trying to become better people and make the world around them a better place, these students are trying to make their home district a better place. These young people are really enthusiastic about what they do, they want their city to be clean and nice. I am sure they will all become very accomplished individuals,’ says ChTPZ Chairman of the BOD Alexander Fedorov.
For three months, students from the plant-sponsored schools 46, 47, and 77 and Voskhod Sports Club will be cleaning up and improving the streets in Leninsky District, the shore of Lake Smolino, their club and school premises, and the plant’s Palace of Culture. The company allocated 600,000 RUR to remunerate the students for their efforts.
