Deputy Emergencies Minister comes to Uralvagonzavod

April 15, 2015. Russia’s Deputy Minister of Emergencies, Colonel-General Alexander Chupriyan paid a visit to Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s heat and power station, the corporation’s press service reports.

The visit was part of the official’s business trip to Nizhniy Tagil aimed at inspecting the city’s hazardous industrial facilities.

The MoE representative was accompanied by head of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry Sverdlovsk Region division, Major-General Andrei Zalenskiy, head of MoE Ural division, Lieutenant-General Sergei Miroshnichenko, Mayor of Nizhniy Tagil Sergey Nosov, and Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s Chief Engineer Yuri Shangin. The guided tour of the station was given by Director Andrei Galakhov.

The corporation’s heat and power station supplies energy resources to the industrial sites as well as to Dzerzhinskiy District of Nizhniy Tagil. The delegates wanted to inspect the station’s automated production processes and its security system (including tripping sensors and flue-gas testers). The system is almost fully assembled and is about to be launched. Its function is to alert the workers when maximum allowable concentrations of carbon dioxide or methane have been exceeded and thus prevent accidents and emergencies.
