November 25, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region’s official unemployment rate came to 1.05% on November 1, 2014, which was 0.1% less than in November 2013. The figures were actually even lower than the average in twenty-seven cities and towns within the constituency, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports.

24,353 people registered with the local employment agencies as looking for jobs as of November 1, 2014, whereas the number of job adverts placed by local employers was 2.5 times greater than the number of the unemployed. This means the tension coefficient (the unemployed/job openings ratio) stood at 0.5.

As of November 1, 2014, 62,261 vacancies were advertized by Sverdlovsk Region-based employers, which was 19,816 positions more than as of November 1, 2013 (42,445).

Most of the jobs are available in Yekaterinburg (40,331, or 64.7% of the total number of vacancies), Nizhniy Tagil (3,328), Kamensk Uralsky (1,938), Pervouralsk (1,644), Berezovsky (1,181), and Nizhniye Sergi (1,032).
