MMK proves one of Russia’s top five most frequently media-covered metal companies

October 9, 2014. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) was on the list of the top five Russian metallurgical companies most frequently referred to in the media in September 2014, Interfax refers to its SCAN (Complex News Analysis System) as indicating.
According to SCAN’s data, MMK was mentioned in the Russian media 1,686 times last month. Interfax believes a rating this high has to do with the fact that MMK announced they signed a memorandum on technical and scientific cooperation with ChTPZ Group and Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil; the news received extensive media coverage.
The rating, carried by Interfax for the first time, features 20 most frequently covered companies in the ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical sector and in the pipe-manufacturing and precious and rare metal producing industries.
