October 6, 2014. Uralcryomash (Nizhniy Tagil-based member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) is celebrating its 60th anniversary, the corporation’s press service reports.

‘Today, Uralcryomash is a multi-industry, dynamically developing enterprise and one of the leaders on the Russian specialized cryogenic equipment market. The company makes goods for all kinds of industries: for the rail carriers and oil and gas companies, for Roscosmos, and for the Russian defense industry. For one, the company designs and makes special systems for storage, transportation, and filling of spaceships. Virtually every launch of a Russian spacecraft was and is accompanied by the assistance of experts from Nizhniy Tagil,’ the company says.

Uralcryomash designed portable filling equipment for launch vehicles that enabled the launch of both Vostok 1 and Russia’s first sputniks and made such projects as Energia-Buran and Morskoy Start (Sea Launch) possible. The enterprise is directly involved in the construction of Vostochniy space launch site and is making fuel components delivery systems for Soyuz 2, a launch vehicle (and, in the future, for another launch vehicle called Angara).

Uralcryomash is Russia’s only enterprise that makes cryogenic container tanks for transportation of liquefied natural gas and other products,’ Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service says.
