August 7, 2014. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation got a compliance certificate from the Federal Railway Transport Certification Register (RS FGT); the certificate was issued for the pilot batch of 1,000 hopper carriages 19-5153 meant for mineral fertilizers; the hoppers are mounted on 18-100 bogies, the corporation’s press service reports.

The capacity of the new hopper comes to 70,0000 kg, the body volume comes to 83 m3. The model’s advantage lies in the fact that the cover lid can be removed. Mineral fertilizers are classed as chemically aggressive substances, which means they have an increased destructive and abrasive impact on the internal parts of the hopper body and lid during transfer. This is exactly why a removable metal lid makes repairs much simpler.

The company expects to get its mineral fertilizers hopper 19-5153-02 RS FGT certified as well in September. The use of innovative 18-194-1 bogies for this hopper increases the latter’s load capacity to 76,000 kg.

The corporation is currently getting ready to launch mass production of its new range of mineral fertilizer hoppers.
