Russian Telecommunications Ministry declares Sverdlovsk Region residents most active government services website users

Moscow, July 29, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region residents proved some of the most active users of the United Government Services Portal in the first half of 2014, the Russian Telecommunications Ministry reports.

People living in Sverdlovsk Region use the portal as often as those living in Moscow, Moscow Region, Saint Petersburg, and Samara Region.

Checking for road fines, unpaid taxes, and being on the list of enforcement proceedings instituted by the Federal Service of Court Officers was the most popular service. Also, more people applied for international passports and pension savings online than before.

All in all, the number of government services people applied for increased considerably in the first half of 2014 compared with the earlier periods: the figure stood at 7.8m against 12.9m in the twelve months of 2013. The median daily number of visitors to the website also increased from 151,000 in the first half of 2013 to 208,000 in the first half of 2014.
