July 15, 2014. According to preliminary estimates, the total worth of deals signed at the international industrial exhibition Innoprom 2014 came to 50bn RUR, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev said at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.
The Governor said that this figure was comparable with last year's one.
'This year, slightly over 50 contracts were captured, including 19 large-scale ones. According to the preliminary data we have, we are talking about 50bn RUR. It is possible, however, that the final figure will be either smaller or larger after all. We are interested in the agreements that were signed along the lines of our industrial policy. I think we stayed at more or less the same level as last year, but we are more keen to look into the quality of contracts and the grounds upon which they were signed than into the number of contracts as such,' Kuivashev explained.
He also stressed that Deutsche Messe and Innoprom's coordinator Formica signed an agreement on mutual support of exhibitions in Hannover and Yekaterinburg. As a matter of fact, Germany's Trade & Industry Chamber also announced it was interested in the event and was planning to join Innoprom in 2015.
The Governor pointed out that next year's exhibition would be sectored along the following clusters: machine-building, metal treatment, medical equipment, and pharmacological equipment.
