Koltsovo Airport's passenger turnover goes up to 1.55m people

June 11, 2014. Passenger turnover at Yekaterinburg-based Koltsovo Airport amounted to 380,000 people in May 2014. All in all, 1.548m people traveled through the airport in the first five months of 2014, which was 7.5% more than in the first five months of 2013, the airport's website states.

The international passenger turnover only increased by 1.5% and reached 718,000 people, including 196,700 people who flew in May. The domestic passenger turnover has gone up by 13.2% since the beginning of the year and came to 829,200 people. In May 2014, the domestic passenger turnover went up by 12.8% and came to 182,700 people. The number of sorties rose by 9.4% and came to 9,100.

Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Hurghada, Antalya, Bangkok, Dubai, and Sharm El Sheikh remain the most frequently traveled to destinations: over 900,000 passengers flew there in January-May.

Ural Airlines – Koltsovo Airport's key air carrier – is No.1 in terms of the number of passengers it flew, Aeroflot and Transaero are in the second and third places.
116 scheduled flights operated by 48 airlines were available at the airport in the first five months of 2014.
