Multi-faceted development program for Verkhoturye is estimated at 4.2bn RUR

May 28, 2014. A multi-faceted recreation and tourism development program for Verkhoturye for 2014-2020 is estimated at 4.2bn RUR, with 2.7bn RUR to be allocated from Sverdlovsk Region budget and the rest to be contributed by private investors, Sverdlovsk Region Government’s press service reports.
37.5% if this money will be directed to renovation and construction of the communal housing services infrastructure. Thanks to this program, 70% of the population will get access to uninterrupted supply of good quality drinking water and will benefit from 16 km of natural gas pipelines.
In 2014-2020, 26 architecturally important objects will be restored, including the buildings within Saint Nicolas Monastery and the Holy Protection Convent, which is expected to increase the tourist inflow to 76,000 people a year.
All in all, the program’s key focus remains on improving the living standards of the local residents, says Sverdlovsk Region Economics Minister Dmitri Nozhenko.
