120 CCTV cameras to get installed in Yekaterinburg for World Cup 2018

May 8, 2014. 120 CCTV cameras will be installed around Yekaterinburg Central Stadium by the time of World Cup 2018, the city council's press service reports.
'Issues relating to security in the city streets and sports facilities are some of the key requirements the FIFA imposes on cities hosting the world football championship of 2018. Yekaterinburg has been working on this since 2008, with surveillance cameras installed in public places,' the message says.
According to the Director of Traffic Coordination Center Evgeny Seletkov, new cameras get installed in Yekaterinburg every year. There are currently 308 outdoor cameras in the centrally located roads and pedestrian areas.
There are currently 5 HD cameras next to Central Stadium. Their technical properties allow for a 20-fold zoom-in without any damage to the quality of the picture. The price of one rotating camera comes to up to 150,000 RUR.
In addition, 10 cameras inside Central Stadium are connected to the system as well, and the signal from this cameras gets delivered to a single control board from where the police and traffic wardens can see it and react promptly to any incidents.
