UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 7, 2019. EVRAZ Holding's coal mines have all been fitted with cameras, Raspadskaya Coal Company's PR Department reports.

The cameras ensure online monitoring of the production process and help ensure compliance with the safety regulations.

'105 infrared/thermal imaging cameras in explosion-proof casing are now at work 24/7 despite the poor lighting underground. The data get displayed on the experts', mine managers', and Raspadskaya Coal Company's control tower's screens automatically. The management checks and analyzes the footage regularly,' the Department says.

Cameras have been installed at every drifting face and conveyor belt entry. By the end of the year, cameras will also get launched in coalfaces and the rest of the mines.

'Raspadskaya Coal Company relies on the modern digital technologies to enhance mining safety. Our miners use special-purpose tablets in the mines and drones on the surface; IT programs/underground-friendly mobile apps help control gas content in the mine and the equipment settings. Raspadskaya Coal Company won three medals for its innovative solutions at the 26th International Trade Fair for Coal Mining Technology, Preparation and Materials Handling (UGOL ROSSII & MINING 2019),' the company says.
