April 22, 2014. Transport Machine-Building Design Bureau (KBTM, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) bought 10 electric vehicles ET 2054 in Yekaterinburg.

'The vehicles are produced by M.I. Kalinin Machine-Building Plant and are meant for transporting cargo of up to 2,000 kg indoors and outdoors. This is an environmentally friendly means of transportation that can enter any department. These vehicles are 3.5 meters long and 1.3 meters wide and are maneuvered enough so as to easily move around the entire territory. The vehicles are fitted with lead-acid batteries that can be charged through a regular socket. The charge is enough to last the entire working day,' the corporation's press service says.

To operate these vehicles, one needs to undergo special training. KBTM HR Department has already scheduled some training sessions for the second quarter of 2014; the employees will acquire the skills of an electric vehicle driver. Upon the completion of a 240-hour course on the company premises (the employees will work part-time during the training) they will be issued Type B license of a tractor operator and engine driver.
