Sverdlovsk Region Court supports ruling on SUAL-Kremniy cutting back on emissions

April 17, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region Court supported the ruling of a court of lower instance that stated OOO SUAL-Kremniy-Ural should develop and implement a sanitary protection zone before 2015, the court’s press service says.
In 2011, the court followed the public prosecutor for the environment’s demand and made SUAL-Kremniy-Ural develop and implement a sanitary protection zone before the end of 2012 and to install gas purification facilities before the end of 2013. The enterprise failed to comply with these requirements in due time.
The enterprise appealed to court, asking to shift the design and implementation deadline for the sanitary protection zone as well as the deadline for the installation of gas purification facilities to 2017. In the end, the court gave SUAL-Kremniy-Ural until 2015 to do this. This was the ruling that the company actually tried to appeal against in Sverdlovsk Region Court.
