Russian Railways safety experts pay a visit to Ural Locomotives

April 15, 2014. Ural Locomotives (a joint venture run by Sinara Group and Siemens AG) got visited by a delegation of chief train safety experts at Russian Railways, headed by Head of Russian Railways Motion Safety Department Shevket Shaidullin.

According to Sinara Group’s press service, the visit was part of a network meeting of deputy heads of local railway divisions and chief inspectors for motion safety from all of Russian Railways local divisions.

During their visit to the enterprise, the delegates talked about the ways of improving Sinara 2ES6 electric loco; special emphasis was made on how the vehicles actually affect the condition of the railways. Besides, experts discussed the experience of introducing IRIS, the international quality standard for the railway industry.

‘Ural Locomotives started the launch of the IRIS in 2011, and in June 2013, the company was issued a compliance certificate. The introduction of this standard made it possible for the company to enhance the quality of its produce, optimize and improve its production and technological processes, reduce the cost of its products’ lifecycle in terms of development, design, production, and maintenance; this, in its turn, resulted in the plant’s better economic efficiency indicators,’ the press service reports.
