Uraltransmash to expand tramways production to 250-300 a year

March 25, 2014. Uraltransmash (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation) is going to expand its tramway production to 250 to 300 units a year, the company DG Alexei Noskov said at a recent meeting of Sverdlovsk Region Designers Union.

According to the corporation's press service, he said in his presentation that over the years the company's tram production department had developed seven different tram makes and a range of their modifications.

The trams produced by Uraltransmash are used in Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Samara, Nizhniy Novgorod, Tashkent, Kazan, Ufa, Nizhniy Tagil, Izhevsk, Kursk, Orel, and Krasnoturinsk. Alexei Nosov said a development concept for the plant was designed as well as technical solutions for furnishing the facilities under construction; Uralvagonzavod designed and confirmed a long-term production program and business plan, and agreements were signed with strategic partner companies.

Starting from 2013, Uraltransmash has been implementing a number of projects on the development of tramway production facilities and setting up a vertically integrated production structure meant for making a range of tramways, and warranty and post-warranty services throughout their lifecycle.
