Sverdlovsk Region Government to support Uraltransmash projects

March 30, 2015. Sverdlovsk Region Prime Minister Denis Pasler paid a visit to Uraltransmash (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation).

According to the corporation’s press service, the enterprise’s Director-General Alexei Nosov informed the official of the development of affairs at the plant, with a focus on the tram production and their work on the new-generation tram R1 in particular.

Uraltransmash had its tram production facilities rebuilt over the last two years; besides, the newest equipment was purchased for the mass production of 71-409, a low-floor, three-section tram; this tram, as well as the partially low-floor 71-407 make, are part of the plant’s Barrier Free Environment Program.

The plant’s production capacity now stands at 100 highest quality tram cars a year.

Denis Pasler said the existing investment and retooling programs had proven fruitful: the plant kept on upgrading and offering good quality products to both Sverdlovsk Region and other Russian markets. The Prime Minister assured his hosts that Sverdlovsk Region Government would support Uraltransmash both under the terms of the agreement that was signed by Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeniy Kuivashev, Uralvagonzavod Corporation DG Oleg Sienko, Head of Yekaterinburg Council Alexander Yakob, and Gazprombank’s Vice President Yan Tsenter at the Innoprom 2014 Exhibition and through other programs.
