Sverdlovsk Region transfers 51.7% less coal in February 2014

March 07, 2014. The volume of coal handled by Sverdlovsk Railways decreased by 51.7% in February 2014 compared with February 2013 and amounted to 28,300 tons, the company's press service reports.
The shipment of building materials dropped by 14.6% down to 1,500m kg, that of ferrous metals declined by 8.3% down to 800,000,000 kg, that of ferrous metal scrap decreased by 10% down to 200,000,000 kg, that of iron and manganese ore declined by 7.6% down to 1,000m kg, that of cement declined by 10.3% down to 200,000,000 kg, that of timber declined by 9.7% down to 200,000,000 kg, and that of chemicals and soda went down by 11.1% down to 300,000,000 kg.
All in all, the volume of shipments at Sverdlovsk Railways was 10,1m tons in February, which was 5.8% more than in February 2013. The shipments of industrial raw materials and molding materials increased in volume the largest and reached 0.8m tons: this is up 219.6%.
The volume of shipments at Sverdlovsk Railways was 20.7m tons in January-February 2014, which is 8.5% (1.6m tons) better than a year earlier.
