December 4, 2013. Heads of member enterprises of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation in charge of personnel training coordinated a seminar on the problems and prospects of employee professional development system at the member enterprises in Nizhniy Tagil. The main purpose of this seminar was to come up with a unified approach to cadre training at Uralvagonzavod enterprises. The experience of the head plant’s Personnel Training Center was used as the basis for the system. It was decided to develop it into the Corporate Training Center in the future, the corporation’s press service reports.

Uralvagonzavod’s Deputy Director-General for Human Resources Svetlana Ivanilova pointed out the seminar’s great professional level: upper-level managers from all over Russia – Deputy DGs, department directors, and heads of HR – arrived in Nizhniy Tagil.
‘This means this seminar gathered people who really can and will deal with the HR issues at their enterprises,’ Ivanilova said.

‘Improvements in personnel training is one the corporation’s top priority goals for the next five years. The state imposes rather challenging tasks on Russia’s (currently) only tank and special vehicle manufacturer, and the defense contracts grow increasingly bigger every year. Uralvagonzavod alone needs to hire about 4,000 skilled workers to fulfill the government order. The corporation is also planning to put up a totally new mechanical assembly shop to make new-generation products that will only employ the most skilled specialists,’ the company’s press release says.
