October 15, 2013. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation got a special prize in the Corporate Purchases Leaders Contest: it was awarded in the Special Category for its contribution to the development and promotion of competitive purchasing activity and making its purchasing policy efficient, the corporation's press service reports.

'In my view, this contest is a chance for the companies to show their potential and to demonstrate their development. This is a stimulus for further growth, for moving forward, for improving one's purchasing performance. The Corporate Purchases Leader Prize is an implement that makes it possible for the companies to say, 'Yes, we are moving in the right direction as far as purchases are concerned. What we are doing is important and good for the market!', the corporation's head plant's Market Research & Competitive Procedures Director Dmitri Yelnik said at the awarding ceremony at the Marriott Royal Aurora Hotel in Moscow.

This was actually the second Corporate Purchases Leaders contest in Russia. Last year, Uralvagonzavod won in the Best System of Working with Suppliers category. This year, the board of experts (comprising reputable purchase experts and specialists) awarded the corporation as as a particularly appealing contestant.
