UrBC, Magnitogorsk, November 1, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) was among the winners of the All-Russian Competitive Purchases Leader Award in Developing Team’s Potential, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

The final round of the annual competition took place in Moscow in late October. This year, 220 companies from all over Russia submitted their applications to compete. In the end, 14 companies won the Competitive Purchases Leader Award in various categories.

MMK made a presentation on category management in its Purchases Department in 2019. The idea is to delegate the signing of contracts and agreements to category managers (who get power of attorney within a given category scope). The judges’ committee rated MMK Purchases Department’s achievements and the company’s efforts to develop the purchasing team’s potential very highly.

The Competitive Purchases Leader Award is the first professional contest in the trading and purchasing segment. The award was established in 2012 and now brings together purchasing experts, government officials, the media, and public organizations. The goal is to draw the public’s attention to the most distinguished purchasing projects that make their company’s performance more efficient and contribute greatly to the entire market’s development.

MMK is a regular participant in and winner of the Competitive Purchases Leader Award. The company has won awards in Purchasing Transactions’ Cost Effectiveness, Developments & Improvements in Purchases, Innovations Leader in Trading & Purchasing, and Purchasing Transactions’ Cost Effectiveness.
