May 28, 2013. About 3.5bn RUR was paid to Yekaterinburg budget in the first quarter of 2013, which is nearly 1bn RUR more than a year earlier, the city council’s press service refers to the Russian Federation Federal Tax Service as reporting.
The city council says that exceeding last year’s figures occurred because of the population’s growing income; also, the city council and tax inspectorate experts put a lot of efforts into reducing the scale of tax evasion.
Most of the revenues come from private individuals’ income tax: in fact, this makes up two-thirds of Yekaterinburg budget. About one-fifth comes from the land tax. Put together, these two sources of budget income make up over 95% of tax revenues in the city budget.
Yekaterinburg Council is to present a report on the implementation of the budget at Yekaterinburg Duma meeting on May 29.
