Uralvagonzavod Keeps Improving Working Conditions

27 March 2013 (09:20)

March 27, 2013. Full-scale cleaning operations took off at Uralvagonzavod’s painting department: this is where the company’s railway vehicles get painted. This is the first time the cleaning is being done on such a large scale. This will improve the employees’ living conditions considerably and will reduce the negative impact of work on their health, the corporation’s press service reports.

The painting department was founded in the same year as Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s head plant. The southern section of the department currently runs a super-advanced painting facility that meets all the global standards. Thanks to its technical capacity, the workload on the northern section (where the old painting technology is being used for the time being) could be somewhat reduced.

The cleaning jobs in the northern section of the department will be three-fold. First, the department will be totally cleared off paint. Despite the regular cleaning sessions, quite a lot of paint has been accumulated there over the last 75 years. Then, the mechanics and the energy specialists will check all the performance of the transportation, air conditioning, and fire fighting systems. Finally, the painters will white-wash the walls and renew the paint and coatings units. Everything is expected to be completed by June 2013.
